Certification of the wind turbines Enair
Enair uses the CIEMAT test center to certify its wind turbines
In August, the installation of the new Enair 800 was completed at CIEMAT's Oncala test center. Today, Enair has 2 wind turbines in this center, the Enair 70 PRO and the new Enair 800. During the tests, all the requirements of the IEC 61400-2 standard will be obtained, testing durability, production, noise, safety and operation. In this way Enair focuses on the most demanding international markets where they require certifications that goes much further as what the manufacturer indicates, in order to guarantee reliable products on the market.
Compliance with the IEC-61400-2 standard establishes the design and control requirements of wind turbines of less than 200 m2 of swept area, the compliance requires a great effort on part of the manufacturers, and the standard requires in many cases security factors 9. The complexity of the compliance, makes that many of the manufacturers decide not to approach it. Enair intends to address the USA, UK, Japan among others markets, which considered mandatory if not in their entirety, at least in part, obligatory, because it is an evidence of a qualified entity of the actual results of the machines regardless of what the manufacturer says.
Sadly, the international wind market has not developed as expected and in part has been because; many manufacturers have not produced reliable and safe machines, machines with lower production as advertised and very low-quality machines have been put on the market, which have damaged the image of the technology.
For this reason, Enair consider important to obtain the international certifications, because it is the only way to demonstrate with evidence and accredited quality, that small power wind turbines are a perfect alternative for the energy supply that also can be combinable perfectly with other technologies such as solar / photovoltaic.
